Shared Purpose, Decades of Experience
Our story began long before we sat down for coffee in Minnesota. The truth is, we were born into conversations about race just by entering America in our respective families - one Black, one White. Ms. Bob-e has spent over six decades shaping conversations as a journalist, educator, activist, civil rights worker, writer, and speaker. Her journey led her deep into the heart of communities confronting trauma, fighting for civil rights, and sharing African American folk wisdom with the next generation. Sue's path unfolded in classrooms and university halls, on research teams and public stages. She transformed ideas into action as a university president and published author, always circling back to the core belief that telling the full story matters. Our friendship was forged through honest questions and even more honest listening. By blending academic research with lived experience, we hope to offer a mirror for each visitor: a chance to see themselves in the history, challenges, and hope for change. Our partnership exists to create conversations that last. Through each chapter, every workshop, and all our work together, we invite people of every age and background to step into history - not as bystanders, but as learners and future storytellers.
Bridging Difference, Building Trust Together
What drives us forward is not just the reality of our differences, but the promise of what we can do together. We believe that the best stories - the ones that spark conversation and lead to change - are the ones shared between those willing to sit in their discomfort and keep talking. As a Black woman and a White woman, our friendship models the same kind of risk, vulnerability, and learning we ask of our audience. Our goal is to offer resources that break down barriers to understanding, making complex history accessible to everyone from children discovering their roots to leaders rethinking workplace inclusion. By making history tangible and relevant, we hope to help others reckon with the past, make honest sense of the present, and carve a path for all who come after us. Every resource we create is rooted in the belief that sharing and seeking knowledge - especially about race - requires courage, trust, and hope. We want every visitor to feel invited in, seen, and equipped to keep the conversation going long after they leave our website. That is the heart of why we began this work and why we continue.

Ms. Bob-e
Bob-e Simpson Epps brings over 60 years' lived experience as a journalist, educator, and activist. Her roots run deep in civil rights work, trauma awareness, and leadership coaching. As founder of BASE Consulting and author of African American folk wisdom, she has worked alongside communities across the nation to build resilience and advance equity.
